Variety is the spice of life...a day in the life of Animate...

I love days like this - not just because the sun's out at a reasonable temperature (i don't like it too hot...too sticky and uncomfortable!), but because i have loads of different and varied work to do, and that's what i like. I started this business because i can work with a wide range of animals and so today is perfect. here we go...

I start the day dealing with the 4 home-boarding dogs i have at my house - 1 collie-cross, 1 border terrier, 1 pug and 1 boxer - variety already! Once they're walked, fed and sorted, i head down the road to a small holding with doves, quail, sheep, cats, hens and geese. Then it's back up the road to see 4 dogs (one of which is a great dane x st. bernard - luverly!!), 3 cats and 2 pigs, before continuing along to my regular horses - 12 of them - who are to feed and muck out. Here's a picture of the new addition Baby is about 3 hours old here! Once the horses are happy, it's back home for some dinner, then walk a couple of dogs, who i'll be seeing again this eve - and doing the pigs, hens and cats that also reside there! After that, i took the home-boarders out for a hot walk in the sun - lots of panting and drooling was the order for that walk - mainly from Barney the boxer..i tried to control myself :-) Now i'm going to feed some of these dogs at home, then head along to finish the horses, then i'll do the dogs, cats and pigs, followed by the other dogs, cats, pigs...and hens! Finally rounded off by putting to bed the doves, quail, sheep, cats, hens and geese down the road. Hopefully tonight it will be takeaway for tea, so while i'm waiting for that, i'll give these dogs at home a whizz round the block and then get them settled down. ..and it all begins again tomorrow! That much variety keeps you nicely amused during the day though, and i'll leave you with a picture of one of the dogs keeping watch over the pigs...i'm off to do those horses! Winston on guard!
