Friday, May 6, 2011 at 7:22PM Hi everyone! I'm Rick, and like Basil (see previous blogs), i've been staying with Animate for 3 weeks while my owners enjoy a nice long holiday.
I met a lot of dogs while i was there. There was Barny the Boxer, Laslo the Hungarian Vizsla, Paddy the Kerry Blue X Collie, Betsy the Staffie X, Ruby the Whippet, Holly the German Shepherd (and, of course, Animate's own Holly), and Winnie the cat! But i wasn't allowed to see Winnie, she was kept well out of the way of us dogs, of course.
I'm getting a bit older, so sometimes i can be a bit grumpy and like to be alone,but when i'm playing with my ball or off the lead on a walk, i'm the most fun dog around! I love to talk to everyone passing (whether they're human or canine), i love to play with the other dogs - and my most favourite thing is...rolling in cow muck! Leanne stopped taking us on a certain walk because i always rolled and she didn't want to keep me on the lead all the time, so we had to go elsewhere!
Now, i liked going in the water. but i wasn't keen on swimming - here's a picture of me at my bravest in the water:
One day, me, Betsy and Holly went for a 3 hour walk with Leanne and her friends. We all stopped at Eggleston Abbey for some food, and Betsy almost stole a sandwich right out of Leanne's hand! Me and Holly were distracting Leanne, while Betsy snuck behind, but Leanne doesn't let just anyone steal her food, and our plan failed. (I don't think Betsy would've shared anyway!)

Sorry the pictures are so small - i'll try and sort that out another time...
I have been taking splenda for several months. Just lately I realized that the moles on arms and especially legs had increased.By a sudden impulse while visiting my doctor for something else I showed the increased moles to him on one leg. He pointed out that two of the moles did not look good, he sent one small part of one of them to the lab and it came back as pre- cancerous. Both moles have been removed since.
